Bonner County Clerk Office
Bonner County uses a unified clerk structure. The official county clerk page names Michael W. Rosedale as Bonner County Clerk and identifies the office as Clerk of the District Court, Ex-Officio Auditor, and Recorder. That title is long because the office touches both court records and county administrative records. Court Operations handles court filings and case records. The administrative clerk office handles auditing and related county work. The Recording Office handles recorded documents, marriage licenses, surveys, plat maps, deeds, liquor licenses, and recorded copy requests.
The Bonner County Clerk page identifies the elected clerk and the major clerk divisions.
The division list helps record seekers choose between Court Operations at the courthouse and the recorder counter at the county administration building.

What Bonner County Clerk Does
The clerk's department overview says Court Offices include Family, Drug, Domestic Violence, Traffic Violations, and Small Claims. The county courts page says the clerk maintains court records, new case filings, traffic tickets, court administration, and the movement of information through the court system. It also says the office oversees civil court, juvenile court, infraction court, misdemeanor court, and felony court. For divorce decrees, custody orders, probate files, criminal cases, civil cases, and traffic records, the courthouse records counter is the key channel.
- Maintain court records and new case filings for Bonner County District Court and the Magistrate Division.
- Process traffic tickets and support court administration for public court business.
- Record deeds, surveys, plat maps, marriage licenses, liquor licenses, and related documents through the Recording Office.
- Support county auditing, elections, budget records, expense payments, and related county clerk functions.
- Route public records requests when a request is sent to the wrong county department.
The Bonner County Clerk department overview summarizes the clerk's court, auditing, elections, and recording functions.
Those duties explain why a single clerk title appears on both court records and non-court county records.
Request Certified Bonner County Copies
Certified copies prove that a document copy matches an official record. For court files, identify the case number through iCourt or the courthouse clerk, then ask Court Operations for the decree, order, judgment, or other case document. The research did not locate a public Bonner County court certified-copy fee table, so court-copy costs should be confirmed with the clerk before ordering. For recorded documents, the Recording Office fee schedule lists recorded document copies and certified copy charges.
- Decide whether the record is a court case file, a recorded document, or a marriage-license record.
- Find the case number, recording date, party names, grantor or grantee name, or document title before contacting the office.
- For court files, contact Court Operations or use a courthouse kiosk for public case documents.
- For recorded documents, search the recorder self-service portal for records from July 1, 1986 forward or visit the Recording Office for older index books.
- Confirm copy, certification, and delivery fees before payment because court-copy and recorder-copy rules are separate.
The Recording fees and requirements page is the source for researched recording and copy fees.
Recorder copy fees apply to recorded documents and should not be assumed to be the same as court case copy fees.
Bonner County Clerk Request Fields
Bonner County's public records request page cites Idaho Code 74-102 and offers fillable, printable, and courthouse forms. A courthouse public records request form was captured in the research. Court case records should still be routed to the clerk or court where the case was filed, but the form inventory is useful for preparing a clear request. If the correct department is uncertain, the county says a request sent to the Commissioners' Office can be routed.

Bonner County Clerk Fees
The researched fee table comes from the Recording Office. It is reliable for recorded documents, marriage licenses, surveys, and recording services. It is not a court filing fee table for lawsuits or criminal records. Court case copy, filing, and certification questions should be confirmed with Court Operations. Recorder staff also warn that they cannot give legal guidance, perform a search for a requester, or interpret results.

Bonner County Recorder Search
The Recording Office has a separate online and in-office search path. Recorded documents dated July 1, 1986 to current are online. Older recorded documents require an office visit to use index books. Bonner County does not index recorded documents to a property. Records are indexed by name and recording date, so a title report or known party name may be more useful than an address or parcel idea. Staff may show how to research between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on business days, but they do not perform the research or interpret the result.
The Bonner County Recording Office page lists hours, margin rules, e-recording vendors, and search links.
The 3-inch blank top margin rule and cover-sheet option are recording requirements, not court pleading rules.
The Bonner County document searches page explains online coverage and pre-1986 index-book research.
That coverage date is important for genealogy, title, easement, and historical county record searches.
Bonner County Online Filing Channels
Online court case status starts with iCourt, while guided court forms may use Idaho Court Assistance Office resources and Idaho Guide & File. The clerk's overview points users who need help filling out required court documents to the Court Assistance Officer. Bonner County's Court Assistance Office schedule is first Friday monthly, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., first come and first served, at the courthouse. This is help with forms and process, not legal advice.
Recorder e-recording is separate. Bonner County accepts e-recording through Simplifile or CSC by subscription. Mail recording is possible when the submission follows county requirements and includes the correct fee. Documents need the required top margin or a cover sheet that counts as an additional page. For recorded document searches, the official self-service portal is the county recorder system.
The Bonner County Recorder self-service portal is the official online recorded-document search entry point.
Use that portal for recorder records, and use Court Operations for court case records that belong in the District Court file.
Note: The same elected clerk title does not mean one counter can issue every Bonner County record.
